[won-der-luhst] noun. 1. a strong, innate desire to rove or travel about.

I think Wanderlust must be my favorite word in the English language.
Don’t even doubt my plans to have it tattooed on my wrist in the near future, guys!

Travel fuels my soul in ways I can’t even begin to describe. There’s no other feeling or experience like it in life.
When you’re on the road, discovering new places, new sights and scenes, new cultures and ways of life.
There’s really nothing else like it, and I’m completely irrevocably addicted.

73,813 miles traveled so far – and counting.

My husband and I have so far driven over 70 THOUSAND miles on our roadtrips, just since we were married in 2007. Somehow I was lucky enough that my one true love just happened to have the same need to travel in his soul. We’ve traveled to all 48 continental states by car, and we have our eye on the elusive Alaksa and Hawaii in the near future. Living in Oklahoma, we are in THE prime location to start a roadtrip. We’re in just about the smack-dab center of the United States, and so it takes about the same amount of time to get to either coast as well as Canada or Mexico. We definitely partially owe the success of our ventures to Oklahoma.

I am also incredibly lucky that my career as a wedding photographer lends itself so seamlessly to that of travel. Photography and travel go together kinda like Netflix and jammies. Or cats and snuggles. They’re each great alone and separate, but once they’re put together – that’s when magic happens.

I want to incorporate travelling in my business life as much as humanely possible. I want to photograph weddings, big or small, all over the world. That medieval-themed wedding in the run-down castle in Scotland. The elopement on the white sandy beaches of Antigua. The elegant rooftop wedding in NYC with twinkly lights as far as the eye can see.

Let’s do this!
